Job Summary
The Division of Urologic Oncology within the Department of Urology is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work as Research Laboratory Specialist, focused on liquid biopsy research for molecular diagnostic applications for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. This position involves the processing, management, and analysis of clinical samples obtained as part of multiple ongoing clinical trials. These clinical trials relate to prostate cancer detection and identification of aggressive forms of prostate cancer, and all relate to use of molecular diagnostic platforms for eligible patients. Candidates will be expected to perform independently as well as part of a team and will be absolutely integral to the successful completion of these studies.

Responsibilities*
- Independent intake and processing of study blood samples, tracking of associated clinical variables, data organization, general lab organization including maintenance, management, and ordering/pickup of supplies, sample storage tracking, and participation in laboratory meetings.
- Assist with data analysis.
- Help optimize organization of patient samples.
- Maintain detailed experimental records and protocols.
- Walk to pickup samples from a limited number of MM sites.
- Travel to external sites is not required.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics or related field.
- One to three years wet lab-based experience.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to record-keeping detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to learn new concepts and technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative environment.
- Provided assistance with analyzing data.
Desired Qualifications*
- Master's degree in Biology, Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics or related field.
- Experience in a molecular biology and/or biochemistry research laboratory.
- Familiarity with blood-based sample processing
- 3-5 years of wet lab experience
Work Schedule
The work schedule is Monday-Friday with 8 hour work days. Flexibility with schedule start and end times may be needed to accommodate arrival of samples during weekdays. No weekends.

Background Screening
