Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Visitor Services Team. The Rentals and Events Assistant Associate will report to the Visitor Services Manager. Responsibilities include day-of set up, execution, and tear down of events and rentals, assisting the Rentals and Events Coordinators in preparation of events, and communication with prospective clients and partners. Ability to handle multiple tasks (and people) at one time is a must. This is a part time position working 16 hours per week. You must be able to work a flexible schedule with most shifts being scheduled on weekends and/or evenings. This position will include physical work that will occur outdoors, in variable weather conditions.
Responsibilities*
- Greet clients, partners, and general visitors
- Implement set-up and tear-down of rental and event spaces, including chair and table set up, signage placement, and cleaning/tidying spaces as necessary
- Maintain rental and event equipment and furniture
- Stay up-to-date and informed on what is happening at the Arb & Gardens
- Communicate with prospective clients via phone or e-mail in partnership with the Rentals and Events Coordinators
- Maintain a welcoming environment for clients, partners, and general visitors
- Provide leadership to student team members to maintain an excellent experience for clients, partners, and general visitors
- Contribute to revenue growth for the Rentals business
- Perform other related job duties as client, partner, and organizational needs change.
Required Qualifications*
- Enthusiastic, welcoming attitude
- Excellent customer service with two or more years customer service, events, hosting, or similar experience
- Experience operating cash registers and handling cash
- Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects at once, maintaining a positive attitude in occasionally stressful situations
- Ability to lift or transport equipment weighing up to 40 pounds individually and 100 pounds in a team.
- Capability to operate a golf cart or other work vehicles. Must have a valid drivers license and complete required motor vehicle training
