The U-M Collegiate Recovery Program is part of Wolverine Wellness
Wolverine Wellness (WW) is a health promotion unit within the division of Student Life whose work is guided by evidence-based strategic interventions, collaboration, and innovation using a multidimensional model of well-being. To improve the health and well-being of U-M students, WW uses socio-ecological, motivational interviewing, and collective impact frameworks. From addressing individual attitudes and behaviors to fostering a supportive and inclusive campus climate, WW promotes well-being using a wide range of public health approaches. We are guided by the World Health Organization components of health promotion, prevention, personal skill development, strengthening community action, creating supportive environments, and policy/system-level change management. You will:
Assist supervisor in implementing the Collegiate Recovery Program's mission and strategy and provide case management, program planning, and resource identification for students in recovery from an alcohol or other drug related addiction.

Responsibilities*
60% Case Management
- Provide support for students participating in the recovery program
- Provide individual case management to students in recovery
- Coordinate group recovery meetings for students in the recovery program
- Provide advocacy and referrals for students in recovery navigating support resources on and off campus. Provide support for crisis management
- Meet individually with students looking to be members of the CRP
30% Program Planning and Outreach
- Coordinate daily activities, including group meetings and educational workshops.
- Help students plan sober social activities
- Plan and implement outreach events to increase campus-wide awareness of recovery support services.
- Collect data and maintain accurate records of program participation, events, and services.
- Help develop marketing materials and content for the program's website and social media platforms.
10% Assist in Wolverine Wellness functions
- Participate in program strategic planning and Wolverine Wellness staff meetings
- Cover reception
- Assist Wolverine Wellness staff with needs assessment and evaluation
- Represent Wolverine Wellness positively to students, faculty and staff through orientation, information tables and other committees
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, counseling, higher education, or a related field.
- One or more years of experience in program coordination, recovery services, or student support in a higher education setting.
- Understanding of recovery, addiction services, and student development.
- Strong Organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of students in a compassionate and supportive manner.
- Knowledge of Washtenaw County resources and the local off campus recovery community
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive U-M fleet vehicles.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Additional Information
Working conditions: This is an onsite position. Must be able to work some regular evenings (Tuesday and Friday) and occasional other evenings and weekends. One to two days per week hybrid possible. Occasional outdoor activities.
You will report to the Senior Program Manager for the Collegiate Recovery Program.
This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.
Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/2025 or after, will not be eligible for the university FY25-26 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.
Relocation will not be offered for this position.
