Who We Are
The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, University of Michigan, is expanding its regional faculty team. We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neonatologist to join our affiliated NICU at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital (THO) in Pontiac, Michigan. This full-time clinical faculty role offers the opportunity to practice community-based neonatology within a collaborative academic framework. Faculty at THO benefit from a University of Michigan appointment, engaging in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and educational activities alongside Michigan Medicine colleagues.
Required Qualifications*
About the NICU at Trinity Health Oakland
- 29-bed Level III NICU with approximately 320 admissions annually
-2,000 deliveries per year
- Weekday in-hospital rounding by two neonatologists
- Night coverage by in-house NNPs; neonatologists take home call one week in three, with in-person attendance for deliveries <28 weeks' gestation or as needed
- Weekend coverage rotates among neonatologists THO maintains a joint venture affiliation with Michigan Medicine, facilitating close collaboration with C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, which is nationally ranked in all eleven pediatric specialties, including Neonatology, by U.S News and World Report for 2024-2025.
Academic and Collaborative Opportunities
- Clinical faculty appointment at the University of Michigan, with academic rank commensurate with experience
- Participation in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engagement in interprofessional quality improvement and protocol development
-Collaboration with on-site Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and virtual consultation with Michigan Medicine subspecialists in Genetics, Nephrology, Cardiology, Neurology, Pulmonology, and more
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board-certified in Pediatrics
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the start date
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Michigan
