Job Summary
The Michigan Medicine Departments of Dermatology and Pathology seek a dermatology-trained dermatopathologist to join our growing faculty team. This full-time faculty position includes dual appointment in the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology and offers a mix of clinical dermatology and dermatopathology clinical practice and teaching.
Responsibilities*
Responsibilities will include clinical dermatology patient care, sign out of dermatopathology specimens, active participation in dermatology clinical conferences and multidisciplinary tumor boards, and teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students. Our dermatopathology team works closely with clinicians through difficult diagnoses to render the most accurate treatment plans for their patients. Consult cases and cases from community dermatologists and other providers from across the state are also part of the case mix. Opportunities for robust clinical and translational research are available and encouraged.
Required Qualifications*
Applicants must:
- have an M.D.
- be board-certified in Dermatology
- be board-certified or board-eligible in Dermatopathology
- have ability to obtain the appropriate medical license in the State of Michigan
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Evidence of excellence in patient care and didactic teaching, and a record of peer-reviewed publication are expected. Prior training or clinical experience at a major academic medical center is preferred.
