Responsibilities*

  • Technical development of control algorithms 
  • Analysis of large-scale datasets, applying control theory, developing real-time control software
  • Validation and characterization of the developed control algorithms on hardware with amputee participants
  • Project management, including organizing meetings, generate reports, and technology transfer to project sponsors
  • Coordinate and mentor students working on long-term project aims

Required Qualifications*

  • PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other closely related field
  • Strong track record of publishing in top robotics venues (e.g T-RO, RA-L, T-MECH, ICRA, IROS, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge (suggested 4 years experience) of control systems for wearable robotic devices (prostheses, exoskeletons), including extensive hands-on experience developing, deploying, and testing prototype systems
  • A fundamental understanding of human biomechanics and the challenges associated with gait after lower-limb amputation
  • Experience with the Ossur Power Knee
  • Competency in full-stack robotics engineering, including strong programming skills in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python and embedded processors
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including development and delivery of presentations, research papers, and technical documents.
  • Self-motivated to advance the project and deliver on-time.
