Job Summary

The Director of Video and Analytics oversees the video, analytics and technical needs for the Michigan Women's Basketball staff. This position also provides players with a variety of technical resources for individual, practice and game preparation and provides administrative support to all facets of the program.

Responsibilities*

  • Coordinator of all video for women's basketball program which includes but is not limited to:
  • Coordinate video operations for all practices and games (both home and away) and understand and execute Big Ten Conference and NCAA film exchange policies.
  • Edit, organize, file, generate and distribute game film for promotional, recruiting and instructional use.
  • Serve as the analytics expert in order to provide coaching staff with statistical breakdowns and trends for both our team and opponents.
  • Research, assess and implement new video and technology including filming techniques and strategies, video editing, computers, projectors, videography, camera equipment and video editing software
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment which includes troubleshooting and maintenance along with acquisition of video equipment and software;    
  • Travel with the team and coordinate any video requirements while on the road, such as setting up video equipment for coaches to watch film, and filming the away game;
  • Maintain a yearly video budget and purchase all new equipment
  • Analyze and complete Big Ten Officiating Postgame Reports - this includes making subjective judgement decisions on which officiating clips to submit for review.
  • Manage graphic design projects for the program including designing, organizing and delegating to graphic design interns.
  • Maintain video and graphics for all visual media displays throughout the WDPDC including new multimedia locker room displays and videoboards in both atrium and practice court.
  • Produce and edit special video projects throughout the year. 
  • Coordinate scouting video for head coach and assistant coaches
  • Contribute to opponent analysis to benefit scouting and game preparation
  • Liaison to IT and and assist coaches with technical problems on laptops, phones and work with IT to resolve
  • Assist with special events
  • Assist with coordination and administration of summer basketball camps
  • Hire, train and supervise student video assistant staff.
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting visits.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of the women's basketball film room and A/V room.
     

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have at least 2-3 years of experience.
