Job Summary
The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers key financial and human resource transaction services to customers.
Reporting to the HR Data Administration Supervisor, you will serve as an essential member of the HR Data Management Team. Each Intermediate Associate processes HR and J-1 Visa transactions received by the SSC and completes all associated tasks.
Work Location:
Because occasional on-site presence may be required, you are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance to Ann Arbor. You are required to have a high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided for your use.

Responsibilities*
You will spend 80% of your time completing transactions and analyzing data in a high-volume setting where accuracy is needed.
- Use on-the-job training to process 60+ types of HR transactions. You will become a subject matter expert in Personnel Action Requests (PAR), New Hire paperwork, Personal data changes, I-9 processing, along with other related HR transactions, including analyzing eRecruit suspense and audit discrepancies
- Process J-1 Visa intake paperwork, which includes generating Department of State letters and coordinating exchange visitor paperwork.
- Research discrepancies in the system by examining records and other documents to determine the correct resolution in weekly audit reports
- Identify opportunities to support the implementation of process and training improvements
- Process HR transaction requests using multiple systems: TeamDynamix, M-Pathways (PeopleSoft), Perceptive Content, Dropbox, and others
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience providing customer service
- Intermediate level proficiency with data entry and computer skills
- 1+ years of experience with business software solutions
