Job Summary
The Graduate Student Services team in the College of Business is seeking a UM-Dearborn student to serve as an Office Assistant.
The selected candidate will provide communications and clerical support to the Graduate Student Services team.
A Federal Work Study student is preferred.
The student worker is not allowed to work during class hours, and the work schedule of 10-15 hours per week will be coordinated with the supervisor.
The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, which may increase based on responsibilities, skill level, and longevity.
Performance Evaluation is an ongoing process as needed.
Responsibilities*
- Must follow confidentiality guidelines when handling private and personal information
- Answer student questions in-person, on the phone, and using a case management system in Salesforce
- Assist at recruitment and enrollment events
- Create and maintain documents and spreadsheets
- Utilize the case management system to escalate complex questions
- Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director
Required Qualifications*
- Current degree-seeking student at UM-Dearborn
- Dependability
- Working in-person in Fairlane Center South
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Accurate data entry, typing and proofreading skills
- Good organizational skills
Desired Qualifications*
- Undergraduate or graduate College of Business student
- Previous experience in clerical or office work.
- Knowledge of UM-Dearborn or College of Business policies, Google suite and Adobe.
- Knowledge of DegreeWorks and Banner is preferred.
