Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated individual to serve on clinical and health services projects in Ophthalmology. Our team works to improve quality of care of patients with eye diseases through telemedicine, community engagement and health coaching. Key job responsibilities include conducting study participant visits and data entry abstraction.

Responsibilities*
- Assist study team with aspects of clinical research coordination including but not limited to conducting study visits including Opthalmic examinations.
- Data entry into research databases requiring skillful attention to detail
- Work collaboratively by maintaining good rapport and communication with research teams and faculty, as well as patients and clinic staff
- Staff members are expected to work independently when appropriate and regularly exercise good judgment in setting priorities, resolving operational problems, applying policies, procedures, and methods, while maintaining the strictest of confidentiality at all times
- Work location will be in Flint, MI

Desired Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree in a field of social science (e.g. public health) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Electronic medical record experience
- Experience in conducting clinical research, data collection, and data analysis
- Experience working with patients in a clinical care environment
- Knowledge of research protocols and methodologies
The ideal candidate will show personal initiative in managing work assignments by organizing, prioritizing work in coordination with the PI, and completing tasks on deadlines. The candidate must be able to work independently, work and communicate with the larger team, and regularly exercise judgment in the application research protocols. This position requires strong interpersonal skills; a person who is approachable and compassionate and has the ability to think on one's feet in sensitive or difficult situations.
Work Locations
Work location will be remote and at the Hope Clinic, Ypsilanti, MI
Work Location will be split between the University of Michigan and the Hope Clinic, Ypsilanti, MI with occasionally study activities in Detroit and Flint, MI

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
