Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Responsibilities*
- Assist in the implementation of research protocols including in person, virtual, and phone interactions with patients and other research participants for participant recruitment/enrollment, survey development and distribution, sample collection and distribution, data collection, coding/scoring, data entry, and longitudinal database management.
- Track, entry, monitor, and follow-up on data collection using a variety of software systems and tracking spreadsheets.
- Assist with study start-up and maintenance as needed (e.g. protocol development, regulatory e-binder).
- Assist the data manager with data management and data processing.
- Assist with presentations, grant writing, and scholarly/dissemination tasks (e.g. literature searches, presentations, manuscript preparation, graph/chart creation).
- Participate in stakeholder meetings with community organizations.
- Assist with the completion and maintenance of IRB applications and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist with quarterly and annual reports (e.g. writing, basic data analysis).
- Responsibility for procurement processes.
- Request, monitor, and distribute participant incentives.
- Provide other administrative support as required (meeting minutes, scheduling meetings, etc.)
- May serve as the point of contact for undergraduate research staff/volunteers.
Required Qualifications*
High School Dipolma or GED
Possess working knowledge with standard computer software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google, etc.).
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
