Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced, motivated, and highly creative digital marketing specialist to join the School of Kinesiology's small but award-winning marketing and communications (marcom) team. Our projects are usually collaborative and always brand-focused. Your role will focus on social media and email marketing strategy and content creation, as well as some basic website maintenance. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications and collaborates with the team's writer and multimedia designer.
This position is based in Ann Arbor, MI, and will have the option for either a fully on-site or a hybrid work schedule (up to 2 days remote/week with Wednesdays being a required in-office day). Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow seven social media accounts and content calendars
- Develop and execute on-brand social media campaigns
- Analyze Sprout data to inform social media strategy and content decisions
- Serve as liaison to UMSocial for content and account coordination
- Hire and supervise two student social media interns
- Collaborate with stakeholders to produce on-brand social media content
- Engage with followers and U-M units across platforms
- Respond to customer service inquiries via social media
- Create and manage email marketing campaigns and stand-alone emails
- Develop drip campaigns for prospective and admitted students
- Analyze Mailchimp and Marketing Cloud data to guide email strategy
- Maintain website directory and intranet access
- Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 plus years of professional experience in social media content strategy, creation, and implementation
- Deep knowledge of digital marketing, including developing a brand-consistent digital personality and tailoring content for specific audiences and goals
- Proficiency in social media management software (Sprout)
- Proficiency in email marketing software (Mailchimp, Marketing Cloud).
- Proficiency in front-end web-related software and content management systems and tools (Salesforce, Drupal, HTML, CSS, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides), and other productivity tools (Asana)
- Basic photography and videography skills, including light editing (Photoshop, Adobe Express, Camtasia, etc.)
