EECS - ECE is searching for a Research Engineer, working under the direction of Professor Euisik Yoon, to work on neural interface embedded system implementation including device assembly, testing and software development

Responsibilities*
- Lead hardware/software design for interfacing with existing in-lab designed neural probes.
- Maintain the labs ongoing dissemination of low-density opto-electronic devices through device assembly and inventory management.
- Help to architect hardware and software interfaces for future and upcoming devices.
Required Qualifications*
- MSE in Electrical & Computer Engineering, focusing on Embedded Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ Years of C++ and Verilog Programming experience.
- Proven EDA design experience (Altium or KiCAD) from schematic design, layout, and board fabrication/testing.
- Understanding of neural signals and related signal processing techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience developing real-time neural hardware interfaces or previous work in real-time data acquisition and processing.
- Wire-bonding and Ball-bonding tools experience.
- QT or OpenEphys Development.
- Familiarity or direct experience with OpalKelly Front Panel API.
