Job Summary
The Mental Health Services, Innovation, and Outcomes (MHISO) program in the Department of Psychiatry conducts cutting-edge mental health services research to address critical challenges such as persistently high suicide rates in the US. Methodological approaches include intervention development and pilot studies, fully powered multi-site randomized controlled trials, large-scale secondary data analyses of electronic medical records, and primary observational data collection via longitudinal surveys and qualitative interviews.

Responsibilities*
- Manage day-to-day operations of multiple ongoing research projects, including:
- hiring, training, and supervising research assistants
- programming data collection instruments (e.g., in Qualtrics) and ensuring accuracy and fidelity of data collection
- programming study tracking tools (e.g., in Access) and ensuring their accuracy and completeness
- managing communications with the IRB and, with the PI, ensuring compliance all IRB approved protocols
- managing study budgets, contracts, and procurements
- writing reports to funders and DSMBs and submitting de-identified data to national data archives
- Manage multiple simultaneous grant submissions, including ensuring adherence to all grant instructions and generating or assisting in generating nearly all submission documents except those dependent on the PI (e.g., specific aims, research plan).
- Lead qualitative data collection and analyses, including through the use rapid qualitative analytic techniques.
- Contribute substantially to manuscripts utilizing qualitative methods.
- Support the onboarding and training of research staff for early career or new investigators affiliated with the PI.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree
- Six or more years of related experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience working across multiple health systems and multiple federal funding agencies (e.g., NIMH and VA).
- Experience conducting research among Veterans and populations at increased risk for suicide.
- Experience with qualitative interviews and analyses.
- Experience programming study tracking forms in Microsoft Access.
Work Schedule
Full Time, Monday-Friday. Hybrid work schedule.

Additional Information
This is a 1 year term limited position. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and you will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
