Job Summary

We are looking for a graduate student to help with a system that is used for improving road safety and vehicle efficiency through real-time road condition monitoring. The project involves installing new sensor on a research vehicle, assist with collecting new data and using the machine learning to interpret data from sensors, including tire sound and vibrations, tire pressure and temperature and thermal imaging. The candidate will help with driving the vehicle while the data is acquired. This role offers a chance to contribute to cutting-edge road safety technology with significant societal impact.

Responsibilities*

Drive test vehicle and help with data acquisition.

Required Qualifications*

The candidate must: 

  • Be a UM-Flint graduate student 
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be able to drive in the state of Michigan.

Desired Qualifications*

Be familiar with National Instruments LabVIEW.

Modes of Work

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.  Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
