Job Summary

The Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan invites applications for a full-time (100%) Lecturer I position in Hebrew Language starting in Fall 2025.

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, instruction at any assigned level of Hebrew language and active involvement in teamwork and program affairs.

Required Qualifications*

Qualified candidates must have an MA in a relevant field such as language pedagogy (preferably in Hebrew language), second language acquisition, or linguistics.  Experience teaching Hebrew language at the college/university level is also required. 
 

Desired Qualifications*

Experience in contemporary second language teaching methodologies, instructional technologies, heritage/non-heritage teaching, and curriculum development are highly preferred. 

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
