This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ann Arbor, MI, with a 40-hour workweek. The standard schedule includes daytime hours (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM) on both weekdays and weekends. Occasional evening shifts (2:00 PM to 11:00 PM) may be required to provide coverage during staff absences; these shifts may qualify for a shift premium. While the position follows a set schedule, flexibility is essential as department or school needs may occasionally require adjustments.

What You'll Do
Purpose:
You will work directly with a team of Facilities Assistants to ensure the appropriate set-up and breakdown of classrooms and events according to customer specifications and address any facilities-related issues on the evenings or weekends. The Facilities Supervisor will work with faculty, staff, students and guests to identify and address any needs or issues related to the use of the Ross Facilities such as for events. You will report directly to the Building Manager.

Responsibilities*
Facilities Support Supervision (60%)
- Handle complaints, requests and inquiries from faculty, staff, students and guests
- Schedule, assign work and review priorities to Facilities Assistants while providing assistance to the team. Answer questions, train new hires and ensure work is completed
- Be a back up to Senior Supervisor on weekends, evenings, and during emergencies
- Evaluate effectiveness of departmental operations and policies and implement changes
- Communicate directly and electronically with managers, other supervisors and facilities staff
- Answer multi-line phone and respond to email inquiries promptly
- Unlock and lock all doors, and ensure the proper and safe use of all Ross School of Business facilities and equipment
- Manage loading dock, mailroom and security for the Ross School of Business complex
- Assess emergency security and building maintenance issues, taking appropriate action to ensure the resolution of problems
- Be a main contact for DPS, Plant Operations, and other departmental staff
- Participate in developing emergency procedures including annual fire drills
- Help prepare annual evaluations; make recommendations regarding the hiring, promotion, disciplining and termination of facilities support staff
- Maintain attendance records for facilities support staff
Academic and Event Scheduling (40%)
- Support the set-up and breakdown of classrooms and events, ensuring all spaces are prepared
- Perform final checks on room arrangements with event coordinators before events
- With the Facilities Coordinator, review scheduled classes and events at the Ross School of Business and recommend levels of facilities support staff, security staff, and custodial staff
- Schedule additional facilities support staff if necessary
- Communicate with other event coordinators regarding future space and equipment needs, discuss event requirements, and help plan events
- Ensure that all event coordinators understand guidelines for room usage
- Monitor condition and amounts of equipment, recommending remedial action
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma and minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience working in building operations, facilities, or event set-ups or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills
- Team-oriented, flexible and customer-service oriented to address customers and visitors.
- Ability to handle difficult situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel

Additional Information
Salary Information:
The posting range for this position is $45,100 to $53,000. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
