Job Summary
The Perioperative Administrative Specialist Associate Healthcare will be responsible for partnering with supervisors and managers within the clinical operation of perioperative services to provide payroll and HR support. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
Responsibilities*
- Processing payroll for 100+ staff. This could include work in OneStaff and Mpathways for bargained for and non-bargained for employees, punch and non-punch staff.
- Track overtime and ensure that mandatory logs are up to date and accurate.
- Creating and submitting a variety of PARs including FTE changes, additional pay, job title changes, and more.
- Coordinating the hiring and termination processes and ensuring onboarding and offboarding steps are completed, including submitted hiring and termination PARS.
- Accurately track FTE and unit staff and assist supervisor/manager to keep a current state picture of staffing compared to the model
- Serve as a subject matter expert for HR questions for staff and supervisors.
- Create daily schedules that are printed and posted for staff each day along with other administrative duties to support the perioperative operation.
- Create, manage, and update blue folders for all staff to ensure proper compliance.
- Candidate may assist with tuition reimbursement, expense reimbursement, MNA reimbursements, and coordinate travel for staff within their unit.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1+ years working with UMPNC payroll required. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Must be energetic/assertive and highly motivated with a positive and professional attitude. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. Candidate must be comfortable and proficient working in Microsoft Windows, Outlook and the basics of a word processor and spreadsheet application (Google or Microsoft preferred).
Desired Qualifications*
Familiarity with one additional bargaining agreement (AFSCME,SEIU) preferred. Prefer 1-3 years of experience in the hospital clinical setting. Ideal candidate will have an excellent attendance record and experience with the University of Michigan Health System policies.
