Responsibilities*
- Supervise central sterilization and dispensing staff and monitor after hours instrument processing in oral surgery. Resolve any evening staff concerns.
- Assist dispensing staff assembling pre-orders for next day when needed. Inventory sterilization supplies and inform unit supervisor of items to be ordered. Load daily damaged goods for repair on to dental stores delivery cart.
- Assist with damaged or broken instruments, bur block or cassette replacement. Assist with replacing damaged bar coding. Monitor after hours equipment repair/maintenance by Midwest Medical.
- Prepare unit for next day operations (Bowie Dick and Attest). Assure dispensing and central sterilization units are appropriately secured at day's end. Apprise unit supervisors of central sterilization and dispensing the outcomes of previous evening work.
Required Qualifications*
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of supervisory experience in a health care environment that includes facilitating personnel issues.
- Considerable experience providing high-level support with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast paced environment. Excellent organizational skills. Strong computer skills and word processing skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience working in a dental or health care environment.
- Basic knowledge of principles of instrument sterilization, dental materials, dental instruments and dental equipment.
Work Schedule
This position is scheduled Monday - Friday, 12 pm - 9 pm.
Work Locations
This position is for the School of Dentistry located at 1011 N University.
