Job Summary

Instruction of lecture and laboratory components for Earth 450: Ecosystem Science (6 credits) an undergraduate course in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at our Camp Davis, Wyoming campus for the Summer term. Instruction includes preparation and delivery of lectures and laboratory exercises; grading exams and homework assignments; supervision of Graduate Student Instructors; grading of assignments, quizzes, and exams; and meeting with students.

Travel to and from Camp Davis, Wyoming, meals, and accommodations are provided for the duration of the course.

Terms and conditions of employment for this position are subject to the provisions of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the University of Michigan and the Lecturers Employee Organization.

Required Qualifications*

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. Ability to lead field work in the outdoors. Have a valid driver's license. Experience instructing laboratory courses and with teaching experience preferred.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
