Job Summary
A research fellow position is available in the Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan (U-M) Medical School. The ideal candidate has research experience in rheumatology and genomics.
The individual will work in a highly collaborative environment and has opportunities to work with top investigators in Dermatology, Rheumatology, and multiple other departments. Responsibilities*
- Support the organization and annotation for our large scale genetic and genomic data cohort
- Quality-check biomedical information from electronic health records
- Conduct systems biology research and analysis for high dimensional data
Required Qualifications*
- PhD degree or higher in computer science, biomedical informatics, statistics, computational biology, or a related field;
- Strong programming skills in one of the traditional programming or scripting languages (R/Python/C++);
- Experience working in a Linux environment;
- A strong interest in conducting biomedical research and designing innovative analysis pipelines to study high dimensional data;
- Excellent communication and writing skills, and a commitment to engaging in highly collaborative team science.
Modes of Work

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
