Job Summary
The University Human Resources Data & Analytics (HRDA) Unit is looking for an Assistant Director to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Senior Director of HR Data & Analytics and HRRIS, you will manage a team of senior data analysts providing actionable HR analytics, workforce trends and operational data reviews to meet the diverse needs of university leadership and our HR campus units, along with related regulatory compliance reporting.
We value accuracy, data integrity, and responsiveness, and we are excited to welcome a team member who can manage our team through the analysis of current processes and creation of technical improvements. You will help define the team's strategic roadmap and lead an action plan to transition from the current to desired future state.
A hybrid work schedule is expected, with on-site work at least 2 days a week. If you are a business intelligence manager who is passionate about using technology and data in meaningful ways to improve HR practices, we would love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of advanced data analysts, promoting a creative and progressive learning culture.
- Collaborate with team members, campus partners and university leaders to deliver and interpret data for complex projects; create intuitive data visualizations and reports demonstrating workforce insights and performance indicators.
- Respond to and resolve customer and partner inquiries and issues while ensuring a high service level and responsiveness, observing data stewardship, security and proper use.
- Maintain institutional reports such as IPEDS, Affirmative Action Plan, Faculty/Staff Salary Disclosure Report and several surveys.
- Expand the use of new technologies and approaches including Artificial Intelligence; lead the HR data user group and additional learning platforms to promote the technical and data upskilling of the HR campus community.
- Maintain the team strategic roadmap and lead action plans to transition from the current to desired future state.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
- 5 or more years of progressively responsible enterprise-wide business intelligence experience
- 3 or more years managing a team with a focus on positive organization practices
- Expert level proficiency in PeopleSoft/Oracle or similar enterprise system
- Experience working with complex data sets using SQL, query design, data validation/automation and analytic functions that result in storytelling and presentation of insights for organizational leadership
- Knowledge of project management methodologies including the designing and implementing process of data structure and system changes
