Job Summary
The University Human Resources Records & Information Services (HRRIS) Unit is looking for an Assistant Director to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Director of HR Data & Analytics and HRRIS, you will manage a high-performing team responsible for the administration, integrity and optimization of human resource records and information systems.
In this leadership role, you will shape our team's strategic direction by encouraging innovation and professional development. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations regarding employee records, handle daily team operations, support HR technology projects, and enhance operational efficiency through process improvement, auditing and automation. We are a dedicated team focused on data quality and system support.
A hybrid work schedule is expected, with on-site work at least 2 days a week. If you are experienced in operations management, HR information systems, and process improvement, we welcome your application.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of supervisors, analysts, and clerks, encouraging a creative and progressive learning environment.
- Oversee the processing, maintenance, retention, and security of employee records and unemployment compensation in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Be the central HR system administrator, ensuring data governance and access controls.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and campus partners to manage system upgrades and enhancements, resolving issues through the design and execution of system testing and auditing.
- Create documentation and training tools for efficient and accurate HR transaction processing and system use.
- Evaluate processes, workflows, and tools, promoting new technologies like AI to refine HR processes and automate data entry.
- Maintain the team's strategic roadmap and lead action plans to transition from the current to desired future state.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
- 5 or more years of progressively responsible enterprise-wide HR or similarly complex system operations experience.
- 3 or more years managing a team with a focus on positive organization practices.
- Expert level proficiency in PeopleSoft/Oracle or similar enterprise systems.
- Experience using project management best practices including designing and implementing process and system changes.
- Knowledge of and interest in cloud HR enterprise systems, robotics processing automation and other new technologies.
