Responsibilities*
Candidate will obtain basic understanding of the operations of a research lab and the importance of proper organization of materials and cleanliness required for experiments. This job involves cleaning, wrapping, labeling and sterilizing glassware and other fragile lab equipment for biological and chemical labs; clean table, sinks, benches, receive and distribute samples of material; fill reagent bottles; operate gas, steam and heat sterilizing equipment; dispose of refuse. Job also involves some data entry and ordering and maintaining of supplies along with other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
As the candidate gains experience, they will be able to learn culture of primary cells or cell lines, immunostaining, PCR, Western blotting, and ELISA, etc.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important
Must be competent in working on a computer and have 1 year of high school.
Desired Qualifications*
Student interested in Biomedical Engineering and Medicine. Willing to learn protocols to gain experience in the field.
