Job Summary
The Recruitment Coordinator for Application Review will assist with the training and supervision of the Application Review Specialist team. This role's primary focus will be on first year application review. Planning, training, supervising, and monitoring of the application evaluation process for internal and external application review staff, as well as application review are key components of the position. Serves as an advisor and trainer for the rest of the recruitment team and as support to the Assistant Director for Application Review and Training on all matters concerning application evaluation training and consistency for first year applications.

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) manages U-M's enrollment function to efficiently optimize students' experiences throughout their engagement, from prospect to alumni. The division collaborates with campus partners, faculty, and staff in support of the university's mission.
OEM comprises a dedicated team of more than 200 full-time staff members and up to 400 additional student and temporary staff and is structured in five operational units - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of New Student Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and OEM Administration. Responsibilities*
The position helps to support the University's mission of building an academically excellent and diverse educational community. This position serves as the direct supervisor for the Application Review Specialists assigned to review applicants to our talent based and small unit schools/colleges. The responsibilities of this position also include managing weekly application review assignments, managing productivity and progress towards application review goals/deadlines, conducting bi-weekly meetings with the Application Review Specialist team, and providing ongoing individual feedback to the Application Review Specialists. This role is also responsible for updating the Google Classroom and application review training materials annually. Additionally, this position will lead the recruitment team staff assigned to coordinate and execute FERPA appointments. - Assist with hiring, training, and providing supervision to a team of over 200 Application Review Specialists.
- Advise students on admissions preparation, educational opportunities and academic requirements at the University of Michigan.
- Interpret University admissions policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance and answer questions regarding admissions requirements, academic programs and student life either in person, via phone or via email.
- Evaluate applications holistically for domestic and international first year students using the University's individualized, holistic and comprehensive application evaluation guidelines. Recommend appropriate admissions actions in a timely manner.
- Serve as the primary admissions and enrollment management liaison for several academic units.
Required Qualifications*
- A Bachelor's degree is necessary.
- Current or recent administrative work and experience in admissions is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train and work collaboratively in a team environment is crucial.
- Two years of current professional higher education experience is desired.
Modes of Work
The Office of Enrollment Management requires a hybrid work arrangement of a minimum of three days on-site and two remote days. Thursday is an on-site work day for all divisional staff. Learn more about the work modes.
