Responsibilities*

  • Provide support in coordination of day-to-day lab administrative operations, including ordering supplies and reagents, managing inventory (e.g., eLabInventory), tracking deliveries, and maintaining lab records (e.g., -80?C, -20?C, LN2 organization). Ensures timely restocking and vendor communication.
  • Support and coordinate lab logistics, such as scheduling lab meetings, organizing lab clean-ups,managing shared calendar access, and overseeing CO2 and liquid nitrogen tank refills.
  • Assist with pre- and post-award grant administration, including helping to gather supporting documents, organizing budgets, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and preparing
    administrative components for grant submissions and reporting.
  • Support compliance and regulatory documentation, including biosafety, IACUC, IRB, and IBC forms. Helps track training certifications for lab members and ensures protocols are up to date.
  • Serve as lab point of contact for internal departments and external collaborators, communicating schedules, coordinating visits, and facilitating smooth onboarding of new lab members.
  • Support special projects as assigned, including preparation of lab documentation, visual materials or reports or presentations, and data entry or compilation for internal reviews. May assist with editing of manuscripts or progress reports.

Required Qualifications*

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an administrative support capacity

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
