Job Summary
As a Postal Clerk Ill, this individual is responsible for ensuring prompt pick-up and delivery of customer mail. This position also supports other courier needs through the delivery of completed Printing Services and Copy Center jobs, working with customers to pick up materials and documentation for new print and copy requests, and delivering excellent customer service to all customers of the Print Copy Mail teams.
This position is a full-time appointment and will report to the Mail Services Supervisor. This role requires someone who can work under limited supervision, proactively anticipates and resolves problems, has experience in a role providing excellent customer service, the ability to execute routine procedures, and has the passion to exceed customer expectations.
What You'll Do
Day-to-day operational duties include:
- Completing Mail Deliveries on assigned routes
- Reconciling deliveries with work requests
- Transporting stock via lift truck or motor vehicles
- Assisting in inventory control procedures
- Ensuring the work area and the vehicle is clean and in safe working order
Responsibilities*
PRODUCTION SUPPORT (5O%)
- Operate a single motor vehicle to pick-up, transport, and deliver mail
- Receive, sort and deliver mail to address by hand or four-wheel cart
- Deliver Print-Copy printed jobs to specified customer location
- Pick up materials from specified customer locations, including USPS mail for metering
- Forward mail of changed addresses
- Prepare mail items for delivery in accordance with postal regulations
- Notify departments of mail schedules and regulations
- Unload APC from USPS
- Maintain USPS tray/bin Inventory
- Clean assigned area of work and equipment
RELATED DUTIES (5O%)
- Process commercial parcel services packages and maintain commercial parcel services log
- Offload pallets from freight - move within the building
- Retrieve and transport items from inventory locations
- Pickup and deliver material from customers and postal facilities as required
- Perform material handling and shipping functions such as carton and skid moving, banding, traying, bagging and skid wrapping to postal specifications
- Operate Forklift when placing and retrieving pallets
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, adjusting, minor repairs and lubricating
Required Qualifications*
- Must have a valid CDL driver's license and pass a motor vehicle record check
- Expected to work independently, and regularly exercise judgment in setting priorities, resolving problems, and the application of policies, procedures, and methods
- Must have the ability to work periodically scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required by internal and external customer needs
Work Schedule
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with start times between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. and end times between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. Some flexibility is available.
Hourly Rate of Pay : $24.96
