Job Summary
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking a student for the Intramural Sports Supervisor position. The Supervisor will assist with the daily operations of the Intramural Sports Program. This includes on-site supervision of officials, participants, and spectators during events and activities. The supervisor will also assist in promoting, organizing, and evaluating activities, along with enforcing program policies. Shifts will take place on weekdays during the evening, in the fall and winter semesters.
Responsibilities*
- On-site supervision for all intramural activities
- Serve as first responder in case of an emergency
- Enforce rules and policies with participants and spectators
- Check facilities and equipment to make sure they're safe for participants use
- Track participants information using IM leagues
- Prep daily work stations for officials to pick up equipment
- Serve as a replacement official in an emergency situation
- Attend required meetings and trainings
Required Qualifications*
- Current UM-Flint Student
- Experience officiating at least one sport and/or supervising events
- Ability to successfully complete provided first aid, CPR & AED certification course
Desired Qualifications*
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for multiple sports
- Certified MHSAA official in football, basketball, soccer or volleyball
- Previous clerical experience
- Work study award for upcoming academic semester
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
