Job Summary
The College of Pharmacy seeks a Graduate Student Staff Assistant, whose work will focus on the College's efforts to build and strengthen its disabilities culture. The GSSA will work collaboratively with, and under the direct supervision of, Dr. Regina McClinton, Assistant Dean for Dedicated Programs and Assessments, who will also mentor the GSSA. The GSSA will also have opportunities for professional development, including learning about disabilities culture in healthcare.
Course Description
The College of Pharmacy seeks a Graduate Student Staff Assistant, whose work will focus on the College's strategic plan, specifically development of the College's value statements, and supporting inclusive teaching portion of the anti-racism initiative within the College. The GSSA will work collaboratively with, and under the direct supervision of, the College's Assistant Dean for Dedicated Programs and Assessments. In addition to supporting the college in making substantial progress in these areas, the GSSA will also be mentored by Dr. McClinton in the area of belonging and inclusion work in academia and have opportunities for professional development.
Responsibilities*
- Assess the College's disabilities culture and review policies/procedures to ensure the absence of barriers.
- Support the College's upcoming Healthcare Providers with Disabilities event, and in revising our technical standards.
- Review policies and procedures to ensure the absence of barriers.
- Support the College?s Healthcare Providers with Disabilities event.
- Support the DPA unit in expanding its efforts in DC.
- Support the College in revising its technical standards.
- Create an original project that will benefit the College.
Required Qualifications*
This position must fulfill a degree requirement OR be considered academically relevant by the department or degree program in which the degree is being pursued. Verification of this must be submitted with the application.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience utilizing Google Apps (e.g. spreadsheet, documents, etc.) and Drop Box.
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research.
- Able to revise, write and edit a variety of written communications (emails, documents, web content, reports).
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner, and to work both independently and as part of a collaborative group.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications*
- Knowledge of education for health careers and/or pharmacy students is desired.
