Job Summary
Assist the Technical Manager with work within the Stage and Scene Shop for non-University performances and events. Run a small event in Technical Manager's absence and/or guide the student worker(s).
Responsibilities*
- Assist in setting up props and electrical equipment including microphones, lighting, rigging, and special effects equipment
- Operate switchboard for theater lights
- Aid in preparation and maintenance of performance materials (such as dance floor, piano, podiums, and screens), including the proper setup, teardown, cleaning, handling, and storage
Required Qualifications*
4 years working in the theatre industry showing competence in lighting, sound, and fly systems.
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
