Job Summary

The College of Business, Marketing Department is seeking a part time/temporary UM-Dearborn student to serve as a Marketing Intern/Assistant. The selected candidate will provide communications and writing support to the Associate Director of Marketing. Experience with digital marketing, webpage management, and social media is required. A Federal Work Study student is preferred ? The student worker is not allowed to work during class hours, and the work schedule of 10-15 hours per week will be coordinated with the supervisor. The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, which may increase based on responsibilities, skill level, and longevity.  Performance Evaluation is an ongoing process as needed.

Requirements include: 

  • Current undergraduate degree-seeking student at UM-Dearborn
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CANVA
  • Accurate data entry, typing, and proofreading skills
  • Good organizational skills


Job Duties include:

  • Assist with marketing and communications activities, including:
    • Seek and post content to College's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).  Respond to comments and messages.
    • Develop and post announcements to hall monitors, events calendar, etc.
    • Write, edit and send mass emails using approved templates. 
    • Assist in writing or editing content for other publications and webpages as needed.
  • Must follow confidentiality guidelines when handling private and personal information
  • Additional duties as assigned

Desired qualifications:

  • Undergraduate major or advanced coursework in marketing, digital marketing, and/or writing.
  • Previous experience maintaining websites and social media accounts.
  • Knowledge of UM-Dearborn campus, Google suite, and Adobe.

Modes of Work
