Job Summary

Michigan Medicine's Health Information Technology and Service (HITS) Business IT is seeking a Solution Architect-Intermediate to join our team.

You will be an integral part of the Administrative Applications team which is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting M365 services in collaboration with Business Analysts, Business Process Managers and other Solution Architects.  Having responsibility for M365 administration, you will use critical thinking skills to research, plan and develop architectural support models for M365 products, and plan and execute Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and practices in support of the organization. 

Responsibilities*

  • Technical design, configuration, & support of M365 services including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Apps development, and CoPilot. Deploys and partners with business analysts, system analysts, process managers and engineers in system requirements gathering and reviews across the organization. 
  • As part of the M365 delivery team, works with enterprise architecture group, M365 application and infrastructure teams to translate business and functional requirements into technical designs for M365 services. In addition, lead technical workshops and architectural sessions with business stakeholders and technical teams. 
  • Employ proven problem-solving skills for analyzing and translating business information and M365 system technical requirements into a service model, or architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve continued business objectives. 
  • Use critical thinking to configure and integrate M365 services including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, Power Apps, Power Automate, and CoPilot. 
  • Research and propose changes in process, policy and standards as they relate to the M365 architecture or service and design principles. 
  • Support governance, security, and compliance initiatives within Microsoft cloud environment and provide technical expertise in tenant-level configurations, information architecture, identity and access management, and collaboration platforms.
  • Responsible for critical work and/or complex projects related to M365 environment.
  • Support continuous improvement by evaluating new features and capabilities within the Microsoft roadmap and collaborate with senior architects and cross-functional teams to maintain enterprise architecture standards.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of technical design experience in M365 technologies in a technical role. 
  • 5+ years designing and delivering M365 solutions in SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, and CoPilot. 
  • Technical proficiency in all M365 core services including solid understanding of security, compliance, and governance in M365.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement/management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on implementation.
  • Collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative setting.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master's degree.
  • Advanced knowledge with implementing M365. 
  • Proficiency in architectural design principles and frameworks, hands-on experience with major cloud platforms, familiarity with DevOps, experience with event-driven design and integration techniques, familiarity with AI-driven solution development.
