Job Summary
The Armenian Research Center (ARC) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a part-time Assistant to help with sorting and organizing the Center's library and collections.
Responsibilities*
- Assist with sorting, shelving and retrieving materials
- Identify and manage duplicate items
- Compile lists of uncatalogued resources and create basic finding aids
- Create container lists and directories
- Prepare materials for long-term storage
- Update and maintain the ARC?s internal catalog
Required Qualifications*
- Fluency in Armenian, written and verbal. With the ability to recognize the orthographic differences between its Eastern and Western versions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and follow-up skills
Desired Qualifications*
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a Master?s-level program in Library Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in Turkish, Russian
- Familiarity with MARC records and basic cataloging practices
- Prior work with physical collections
- Experience in producing and organizing educational or promotional video content for social media platforms (Facebook Instagram, YouTube)
- Experience in designing posters and flyers using tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, or Photoshop
