Job Summary
The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers key financial and human resource transaction services to customers.
Reporting to the Accounting Customer Service (ACS) Team Supervisor, the ACS Intermediate Associate serves as a critical member of the Accounting Team. Each Associate processes Chartfield Maintenance transactions received by the SSC from the University community. The associate position is 80% transactional/data entry; you will complete work tasks with accuracy while providing a high level of customer service.
Work Location:
Because occasional on-site presence may be required, you are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance to Ann Arbor. You are required to have a high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided for your use.

Responsibilities*
- Apply University of Michigan procedures as they relate to the Accounting Customer Service function
- Process-sponsored research and non-sponsored chartfield requests
- Review and upload sponsored budgets
- Modify and maintain sponsored trees (department structures in our financial system)
- Manage the assigned worklist maintained in our Service Management tracking system and use appropriate means to contact customers by email or phone when additional information is sought
- Provide guidance to internal customers, listen, and answer questions as they arise.
- Monthly responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications*
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience providing customer service
- Intermediate level proficiency with data entry and computer skills
- 1+ years of experience with business software solutions
