Responsibilities*

  • Student Organization Management (40%)
    • Oversee all aspects of health science and general Kinesiology student organizations.
    • Help create new student organizations, ensuring alignment with institutional policies.
    • Provide guidance on event planning, budgeting, and organizational structure.
    • Support intergroup conflict resolution and advise on recruitment strategies.
    • Manage Student Services Office (SSO) compliance and maintain accurate membership data.
  • Student Outreach and Support (30%)
    • Coordinate student outreach programming in collaboration with marketing, communications, and the student affairs team
    • Coordinate on aspects of the new student orientation experience including peer advisor training, the on-campus new student experience, supervising a staff of peer advisors, and scheduling each session.
    • Develop and implement an assessment plan to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach and engagement events.
    • Collaborate with a student affairs team to plan and deliver a speaker series that enriches students through engaging programs focused on academic skill development, career readiness, pre-health exploration, global engagement, community building, and final exam preparation.
    • Maintain visibility throughout the School of Kinesiology and the University by attending key university functions.
    • Participate and serve on university and school-wide committees.
    • You will back up the Front Desk in OSA and will be cross-trained on the functions of the Office of Student Affairs to provide support as needed.
  • Programmatic Support (25%)
    • Coordinate major events, including Welcome Week, Parent and Family Weekend, the Final Exam Cram, the Grad Farewell Lunch, and mid-semester student social and academic outreach programs.
    • Order food and supplies for smaller OUSA events and develop a strong working relationship with the Events and Alumni Engagement Manager.
    • Assist with recruitment visits and special events, including prospective student days, campus days, the annual career fair, orientation, commencement, and other events sponsored and/or supported by OUSA.
    • Reconcile P-Card and submit participant lists.
  • Other Duties (5%)
    • Including special projects that support the mission and goals of the Office of Undergraduate Student Affairs.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in student affairs, student engagement, or a related area (Experience as a student leader is included).
  • High level of proficiency with technology and software, which could include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom.

Additional Information

The general salary range for this position is $57,000 - $60,000 with eligibility to participate in the school's 2026 merit program. An offer may be extended outside of this range based on equity, experience, knowledge, and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor understanding and transparency throughout the recruiting process. Benefits are included with this position.

You will have the potential for a hybrid schedule with a remote option up to 2 days/week (with Wednesdays being a required in-office day). Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on our needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment.

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
