Job Summary

The University of Michigan has an exciting and enriching opportunity available for a responsible, organized, and motivated individual. Our office is hiring a Research Technician Lead to work on a long-running stroke research project. This position is in Corpus Christi, TX.

Responsibilities*

  • Tech management, including but not limited to:
    • Running weekly & monthly project reports
    • Quality Control of all data
    • Automation process of daily hospital logs
    • Maintenance of pending data files
    • Ripple and REDCap technical assistance to project staff
  • Participate in weekly research meetings and communicate routine correspondence regarding abstraction and interview status
  • Abstract health information from participating patients' paper or electronic medical records from area hospitals; enter abstracted data into standard data collection tool
  • Approach identified stroke patients and ask them to participate in the study
    • Conduct baseline interviews with identified patients
    • Conduct 90-day outcome interviews with identified patients as needed
  • Schedule participant appointments and conduct phone calls for reminders, scheduling, interviews, and data collection purposes (including calling participants throughout the study to ascertain their location (home vs. rehab))
  • Setup study material for scheduled participant interviews; organize and maintain collected participant research data.
  • Other research duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

College graduate and 2-3 years of research experience.

Desired Qualifications*

Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills preferred to serve Spanish-speaking population. LVN or other medical degree and data management experience preferred.

Work Locations

This position is in Corpus Christi, Texas and requires on-site work.

This is a term-limited appointment for one year from start date, with possibility of renewal based on performance and available funding.
