Job Summary
Briarwood MedRehab is a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic that provides physical and occupational therapy services, speech and language pathology services, and care coordination for individuals with impairments due to acute and chronic neurological and general rehab conditions. We provide a broad spectrum of care for patients and families requiring limited, one-time therapy services, to those who require complex episodic care.

The Neurological Occupational Therapist will provide direct patient care designed to restore and maximize function by utilizing evidence-based treatment interventions and while working in coordination with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities*
You will provide direct patient care designed to restore and maximize function by utilizing evidence-based treatment interventions while working in coordination with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Required Qualifications*
- If licensed before 1/1/2007: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- If licensed on or after 1/1/2007: Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Satisfactory completion of an internship program is necessary.
- Current Michigan Occupational Therapist License
- Registered member of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy- NBCOT
Occupational Therapist Grad:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in a recognized field of science or learning, which is directly related to the duties of the position
- Satisfactory completion of an internship program is necessary.
- Are actively pursuing the appropriate certification/registration/licensure for their profession
- Any necessary post-graduate learning
Desired Qualifications*
- Minimum of 1-year experience in an adult, neurological therapy setting
- Experience with any/all of the following diagnoses across the rehabilitation spectrum:
- Spinal cord injury
- Amputee
- Stroke
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Cerebral Palsy
- Parkinson's Disease
- Gait/Balance problems
- Chronic pain, pain syndromes
- Experience using rehabilitative technology, including functional electrical stimulation (FES) cycles and robotic upper extremity technology
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. Clinic hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 7A-7P and Fridays 7A-5P. Applicants must have availability to work within the hours of operation Monday-Friday. At this time, there are no weekend requirements.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Recent graduates who have completed their coursework but are awaiting certification are encouraged to apply. We welcome candidates who are in the process of obtaining certification.
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
