Responsibilities*
Duties - The appointee will be responsible for teaching MT357: Musical Theatre Writing Seminar, the cornerstone course for the Musical Theatre Writing minor. This class introduces students to the fundamentals of musical theatre writing, including musical composition, lyric writing, and musical dramaturgy. In addition, they will teach MT458: The Capstone Project, which provides individualized guidance to students as they conceive, develop, and complete a short-form original musical.
Required Qualifications*
Qualifications - Demonstrated experience in writing both music and lyrics for musical theatre, as well as a deep understanding of musical dramaturgy. Candidates should hold a master's degree in music or a related field, or possess commensurate professional experience in the industry.
This will be a one term, 50% appointment for the winter term; January 1 - April 30, 2026.
Expected date of offer: End of October, 2025.
