Responsibilities*
- Compound medication for daily workflow per regulatory guidelines.
- Administer common medications according to unit guidelines and providers' orders and as delegated by providers.
- Assist with PRP preparation and phlebotomy per guidelines.
- Assist in collecting specimens for cosmetic biopsy.
- Provide routine but complex instructions for patient procedures/ treatments and after care according to unit guidelines and as delegated by providers.
- Assist with complex procedures, requiring knowledge of complex and varied equipment including Laser services.
- Provide in-service training and precepting as directed.
- Problem-solve issues related to the retrieval of medical information.
- Coordinate clinical services provided to patients according to payer guidelines (e.g., routing of lab specimens, ordering medical supplies, ordering medications, ordering medical equipment).
- Develop and recommend changes in patient care activities to improve the quality of patient care services.
- Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas.
- Rooming patients to include obtaining medical history, medication review and pre-charting in medical record.
- Assist support clinic operations with patient flow and procedures.
- Responsible for general cleaning and turnover of exam rooms, restocking medical supplies and linens, and ensuring all medical supplies and medications are within expiration dates.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Prior medical assistant experience in an ambulatory care clinical setting is preferred.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working, flexible, detail-oriented, and positive minded individual with demonstrated skills in interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to take direction from a multiple number of medical clinicians and supervisor and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, consistently uses available time effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Participate in in-service programs for the medical staff.
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
Medical Assistant Associate:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
Medical Assistant
- 0-1 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Minimum of one-year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory care clinic setting.
