Job Summary
The Research Program on Cognition and Neuromodulation-based Interventions (RP-CNBI), led by Dr. Benjamin Hampstead is looking for a full-time Research Technician Intermediate or Associate. The program's mission is to provide non- pharmacological treatments for persons with neurologic injury and disease. We focus on methods to assist older adults with a variety of cognitive impairments, using neuropsychological theory, modern neuroimaging methods and a range of non-pharmacological treatments, such as cognitive rehabilitation and brain stimulation. The successful candidate will perform a range of tasks to support multiple research projects. It is expected that you will perform all study-related tasks. Opportunities to assist in the creation of posters, papers, and presentations for scientific meetings may be available. You will handle other scientific administration and clerical activities as directed to support the Research Program, including coordinating with other researchers throughout the health system.
We are seeking a full-time Research Technician who will assist in clinical research and related projects. It is expected that the successful candidate will be trained to administer and score standardized neuropsychological tests to research participants, memory rehabilitation and/or non-invasive bran stimulations. The candidate will handle other scientific administration and clerical duties as directed to support research projects.

Responsibilities*
The position involves recruiting older adult participants with cognitive changes for a variety of non-pharmacological studies. This involves screening using electronic medical records, contacting eligible participants and/or their family over the phone and explaining the study, scheduling visits, following informed consent procedures and conducting participant visits at the Rachel Upjohn Building and the functional MRI laboratory. The candidate will administer, score and record neuropsychological testing and or administer tDCS or TMS. They will also enter data into a secure database, assisting with participant compensation and engage in data management.
Required Qualifications*
- HS Diploma or Associate Degree
- Experience working with cognitively impaired older adults or administration of cognitive testing, rehabilitation or brain stimulation
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task as well as work well under time constraints and deadlines
- Outstanding organizational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team, share resources, and adapt to change in a positive, constructive manner
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary to support the program
- Drivers license with excellent driving record. Must have reliable transportation since local travel will be expected
Research Technician Intermediate:1-3 years full time experience
Research Technician Associate: 0-1 year full time experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related Health Science discipline strongly preferred
- Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record system
- Proficiency in neuropsychological test administration
- Knowledge of Detroit and Ann Arbor area
Work Schedule
M-F 8-4:30. Occasional evening or weekend hours.

This position is located in Ann Arbor, MI and is 100% onsite.
