Marsal Education is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as an Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions. As a member of the Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA) and reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, you will join a highly collaborative and cohesive team. You will provide leadership for recruiting and admissions operations while also serving as the primary recruiter for a designated academic program. This role ensures a smooth, student-centered admissions process by overseeing application systems, staff, and workflows, while also building strong relationships with prospective students through outreach, advising, and yield activities. The Assistant Director plays a key role in aligning recruitment and admissions functions to meet the School of Education's enrollment goals.

Responsibilities*

Admissions Operations & Supervision (60%)

  • Supervise the Application Coordinator, Salesforce Administrator, and graduate intern(s), providing leadership, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Oversee application operations, including review workflows, decision release, and data integrity, ensuring efficient and accurate processes.
  • Lead strategic use of Salesforce and related systems, collaborating with IT and campus partners to optimize data management, reporting, and communication.
  • Ensure admissions website and print materials are accurate, up to date, and aligned with recruitment strategies.
  • Evaluate, update, and implement the prospective student communication plan, including email campaigns, event messaging, and yield communications.
  • Advise the Director on strategic partnerships and opportunities that could strengthen recruitment pipelines and visibility.
  • Develop, document, and refine admissions policies, procedures, and training materials to support consistency and compliance.
  • Analyze application and enrollment trends; prepare reports and insights to inform decision-making and future planning.

Recruitment and Outreach (40%)

  • Serve as the primary recruiter for a designated academic program, including developing and executing a recruitment plan.
  • Represent the School at recruitment events, graduate fairs, and conferences.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person presentations, webinars, and one-on-one advising to engage prospective students.
  • Build relationships with faculty, alumni, and professional organizations to strengthen recruitment pipelines.
  • Support yield efforts by coordinating admitted student outreach, events, and personalized communications.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align recruitment strategies with program priorities and enrollment goals.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in recruitment and admissions
  • 2+ years hiring, training, and supervising experience
  • Experience with developing and launching new projects, programs, or initiatives
  • Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting to groups
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Self-starter and motivated with ability to work toward goals and deadlines
  • Desire to work on a team that places a high value on quality customer service, team orientation, and planning
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have access to transportation and a willingness to travel and work some evenings and weekends
  • Proficient computer skills

 

Work Locations

The Marsal Family School of Education is located at 610 E. University, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. The majority of the work days will be on site at the Marsal School, on campus, or at recruitment locations, and this role will allow for a flexible schedule of up to one day per week performed remotely. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent upon the business needs of the school and/or university requirements.
