Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a crucial role in the recovery of patients following anesthesia administration. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, you will provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients as they emerge from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the recovery process. Your attention to detail, clinical expertise, and commitment to patient well-being will contribute to the overall success of our PACU unit.

Required Qualifications*
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Michigan
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required thru the AHA
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push and lift throughout the shift.
- Capable of lifting and moving patients with assistance as needed.
- Visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients and interpret medical equipment alarms.

Desired Qualifications*
Minimum of one year of experience as a LPN
Previous experience in a hospital setting.
Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: Evenings; 10 hour shifts; variable shift start times, and may include scheduled weekend shifts.
Location: University Hospital- PACU

Union Affiliation
The LPN's are covered under a union contract.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
