Job Summary

We are looking for someone that wants to be a part of the Cardiac Procedures Unit in the Frankel Cardiovascular Center as a front desk clerk. The CLERK D (TEMP) will staff the front check-in desk. They will check patients in for procedures, arrange transportation through Michart, answer phones, page staff, arrange follow-up appointments, and provide support in the CPU family waiting area. They are integral to the smooth running of the department.  They manage the flow of patients and families through the very busy waiting room.

Responsibilities*

     Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling inpatients for procedures in MiChart/Optime as needed
  • Supporting nursing staff and Physicians
  •  Paging staff
  • Arranging patient transportation through MiChart
  • Answering phones and triaging calls
  • Check patients in for procedures
  • Arrange follow-up appointments
  • Provide support in the 2A Family Waiting area

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 -3 years of experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
     

Work Schedule

This is a 36 hour position. M-F, 10a-5:45pm
