Responsibilities*
- Provide prompt, courteous and professional support to Radiologists, internal staff and external customers, in alignment with the Radiology Gold Service Standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the radiologists in the reading rooms.
- Maintaining timely imaging workflows and supporting both radiologists and clinical staff.
- Ensuring imaging studies are interpretated in a timely manner in accordance with Radiology department guidelines.
- Serve as a key point of contact for patient care-related requests, ensuring thorough follow-through and resolution.
- Identify opportunites for improvement in departmental processes and procedures, and provide recommedations to enhance workflow.
- Communicate with technical support teams to report system issues, and assist in correcting study and reporting errors.
- Upload external imaging studies into the Radiology information systems accurately and efficiently.
- Manage requests for release of radiology records to patients and external healthcare facilities, in accordance with privacy and compliance standards.
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent attendance
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with radiologists, technologists and clinical staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement effective outcomes in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Customer service-oriented mindset
Desired Qualifications*
- Previous experience in a healthcare or radiology environment
- Basic understanding of radiology workflows, terminology, and imaging systems.
- Knowledge of health system policies and procedures
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm (30 hours each week, Days off will vary)

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
