Job Summary

The selected candidate will provide patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings, teach medical students, house officers, and fellows, and establish an independent research program in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Required Qualifications*

M.D. degree and be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Selected candidate will also hold (or have the ability to obtain) appropriate medical licenses for the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and documentation of scholarly ability and achievement (record of publications in peer-reviewed journals). Preferred candidate will possess the critical elements of teaching (knowledge of subject matter, skill in presentation, enthusiastic approach, etc.).

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
