Job Summary
The University of Michigan Law School invites applications for the Recruiting Coordinator in the Office of Career Planning. This role is involved with all aspects of employer engagement efforts for the Law School including building relationships with legal recruiters, organizing and hosting on-campus and remote recruiting events, and managing the intake and distribution of career-related information to employers and students. The Recruiting Coordinator also conducts market research, creates resources for students (web and print) and updates the law school's online jobs database. The Recruiting Coordinator reports to the Director of Recruitment Programs. We seek candidates who are analytical, outgoing, innovative, flexible, adept at teamwork and collaboration, and committed to student success. This role works on-campus and in-person. Periodic evening and weekend work is required. Infrequent travel.

Responsibilities*
- Build and maintain strong relationships with law firms and other legal employers to support Michigan Law recruiting efforts.
- Take primary responsibility for managing and developing relationships with medium-sized national firms and regional law firms.
- Plan and manage on-campus recruiting events including developing event budgets, communicating with students and employers regarding event logistics, managing event scheduling, catering, venue reservations, invoicing and payment tracking, and day-of-event execution.
- Promote and coordinate on-campus and virtual interview programs, networking programs, employer receptions, and employer information sessions.
- Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence and employer communications, including e-newsletters; proofread typed materials for content, grammatical, and typographical accuracy.
- Process, maintain, update, and add job opportunities for students and alumni to our online database; distribute biweekly job bulletins.
- Provide other managerial support as may be required by the Assistant Dean for Career Planning. This could include coordinating calendars, internal and external meetings, data entry projects, and covering the front desk from time-to-time.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree with three + years of progressively responsible relevant experience or equivalent administrative work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to effectively communicate and work directly with all levels of constituents (prospective students, students, staff, faculty, alumni, legal recruiters, and attorneys);
- High degree of professionalism and use of appropriate judgment, discretion, and diplomacy;
- Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic office environment;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Discretion when dealing with confidential student information;
- Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience in student services, legal practice, event management, recruiting, and/or higher education is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Symplicity, Mailchimp, Concur, Qualtrics, Access, and UM systems is desired
