Responsibilities*
We have an immediate opening for talented and motivated research specialist to carry out an interdisciplinary and translational project on developing and studying novel small molecule inhibitors as targeted therapies in cancer. The candidate is required to have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology/drug discovery or a related field. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in various cell biology and molecular biology techniques including cell culture and assays (cell proliferation assay, cell preparation for FACS, cell stable and transient transfection), PCR, qRT-PCR, immunoblotting, co-Immunoprecipitation, ChiP and sequencing technologies, flow cytometry. The research will be focused on validation of novel therapeutic targets in cancer as well as evaluation the activity and the mechanism of action of novel small molecule inhibitors targeting important pathways in cancer. In our studies we are using human tissue and patients samples and thus candidate will gain exposure and knowledge of the translational aspects of the research projects. The research specialist is expected to publish first-author high quality papers, attending conferences, help supervise graduate students and rotation students.
Required Qualifications*
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology or related field. Five to six years related experience.
Evidence of scholarly ability, record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, including first author publications. This position requires experience in cell and molecular biology techniques. The candidate is expected to conduct independent scientific investigations, to be a team player and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
Master's degree or specific professional/Doctorate degree preferred in biology or related field.
