Job Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery, is seeking an outstanding Administrative Assistant Intermediate to join our team in support our faculty and staff.  

Responsibilities*

  • Maintain complex calendars, and coordinate meetings.
  • Prepare/submit travel arrangements.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence.
  • Submit Concur expense reports.
  • Maintain CV and other certification documents for the faculty.
  • Inventory, order, receive and distribute all supplies for Taubman offices.
  • Coordinate meetings and other events.
  • Prepare PowerPoint to support faculty presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and show excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task while using good judgement.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint.

Intermediate level: 2-4 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.

Associate level: 0-2 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of University systems: M-Pathways Financials and Physical resources, MarketSite, and Concur.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday  7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
