Responsibilities*

  •  The candidate will demonstrate the ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.
  •  The candidate will have excellent computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft software applications.
  • The candidate will be expected to complete 12 Hematology/Oncology CEUs annually or maintain professional certification in oncology (CPHON, OCN, BMTCN, Infusion Nurse Certification, etc.)
  • They will participate in developing department goals and objectives by attending staff meetings and in-service programs, attending appropriate continuing education opportunities and staff development programs, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to support the implementation of change.
  •  Demonstrated critical thinking skills using the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities.
  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships between units and individuals.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $41.78-$64.81/ hour  

Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour

Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour

Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour

Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour

Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Nursing Specific Info

 Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*

  • A current license in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
  • At least one (1) year in the last five (5) years of intensive care unit experience, emergency room experience, or as a Registered Nurse in an infusion setting.
  • At least one (1) year of pediatric experience in the last 5 years.
  • One (1) year in the last five (5) years demonstrated proficiency with documentation in an electronic health record, e.g., Epic as indicated by interviews, references, and or performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidence by resume, annual evaluations, and references.

Desired Qualifications*

 BSN

Demonstrate (1) year in the last five (5) experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, immunotherapy, cell and gene therapy, blood products.

PALS

Professional nursing certification (CPHON, BMTCN, or Infusion Certification preferred)

Demonstrated one (1) year experience in an ambulatory care setting.

Demonstrated one (1) year experience with ambulatory care infusion.

 Demonstrated ability to start peripheral IV access. 

 


 

Work Schedule

  • 36 hours/week.
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8- or 9-hour shifts, hours of operation 7:30-6:30 Flexibility is required. Weekend and Holidays may be required. 
  • Location C.S. Mott Children?s Hospital 7th floor -Pediatric Infusion Center
  • All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
