Job Summary

The Department of Radiology is recruiting a fellowship-trained full-time radiologist at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank to join our team.

Our growing and diverse adult and pediatric VIR practice has the breadth, depth and scale for faculty at any career stage. We emphasize mentorship, career and leadership development in a culture that embraces research and collaboration. We are seeking candidates who have excellent clinical skills as a vascular interventional radiologists and devoted to basic and clinical scholarly research, and an interest in innovation is strongly encouraged. 

Our VIR faculty perform 100% IR, including the gamut of image-guided minimally-invasive procedures with strong emphasis on vascular, oncologic, transplant, hepatobiliary and pediatric IR services. VIR faculty are engaged in all facets of image-guided intervention, including aortic disease, PAD, venous disease, lymphatic and vascular malformations, pulmonary disease, interventional oncology, peripheral skeletal bone ablation and cement augmentation, visceral tumor ablation, advanced portal hypertension and transplant interventions, gynecologic interventions, palliative interventions and pain management. The VIR-division is a clinically-based practice and faculty are integrally involved in multidisciplinary tumor boards, portal hypertension clinics, vascular clinics, and transplant programs. In addition, a team of 6 Advanced Practice Nurses (NP's) supports a robust outpatient VIR clinic and a team of PA's the inpatient consult and procedural services for adults and children.

Close collaborations with faculty in other departments provide a stimulating collegial atmosphere with numerous interdisciplinary clinical and research conferences. Academic productivity, clinical expertise, and a commitment to teaching are highly valued.

Required Qualifications*

M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent. Individual should be well-established in professional position with demonstrated scholarly or creative ability that positively impacts their field. Both scholarly independence or contribution to a scientific team is required. Evidence by peer-reviewed publications is required. Clinical and/or laboratory research is essential and a sustained level of external research funding is standard. Demonstrate a significant contribution to the educational missions as it pertains to their professional field, high-quality in research and/or clinical service is expected.

ABR-certified or has passed the core examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency, fellowship training in specialized radiology field of study, and the ability to obtain a medical license in the state of Michigan.
